About the Pepper Tree
Restaurant & Bar

Majestically situated in the heart of Coromandel Township, the Pepper Tree offers a unique dining experience rich in Coromandel history.

We offer fresh local seafood and modern New Zealand cuisine. Enjoy our sun-soaked courtyard and shaded verandas over summer and cosy dining next to an open fire during winter.

History of the Pepper Tree & Buildings

The restaurant portion of the building is the original home of the Denize Family built in 1928 and boasts original Kauri wood floors. The homestead was moved forward in 1994 to its current location and the bar, kitchen and verandas were built the same year, forming what is known today as the Pepper Tree Restaurant & Bar.

The actual grand Pepper tree is approximately 90 years old and continues to be a landmark in the Coromandel township.
